THE BENEFIT OF TAKING THIS ON - little mitzvos mean big business!
You may think, how does one little Mitzvo help . . .
Let us share with you some ideas brought by R’ Pesach Krohn.
- He quoted from the Gemora the Gemora in Megillah 27B that mentions
a list of people who lived long lives. When asked in what Zechus, it says
that virtually all took on particular small Mitzvoh or Hanhagoh Tovoh
- and really kept to it their whole life. An example, Rabbi Eliezer Ben
Shamua mentions someone who never used a shul as a walk through.
- Eitz Chayim Hi LaMachazikim. How do we hold on ( Lehachazik), by holding
on firmly to one branch of the tree (Eitz ) – one Mitzvoh of the
Torah.
- Our times are calling out to us to do Teshuva, but it’s
too hard for us to change our lives. Even when we try, we end up reverting
back to nothing, everything as was. We MUST show HaShem that we are seeing
the signs (Twin Towers, situation in Israel, burning shuls in France)
and that it means something to us.
In this way, when HaShem asks what did we did, we can
reply “I took this on…”
